As the chair of the Page Center’s advisory board, Bill Nielsen never let a meeting adjourn without emphasizing how important integrity and trust were to public communication. He believed truth was essential when engaging with the public, and he carried that commitment well beyond his years as Johnson & Johnson’s lead communicator. During his 10 years as the Page Center’s board chair, Bill played many roles, including fundraiser, event host, relentless advocate and friend.
Bill influenced countless communicators of all ages and experience levels around the world as a leader, mentor and colleague. We are grateful for Bill’s support, and we hope to continue his legacy with an endowment built on the vision and values he embraced. The Bill Nielsen “Impact Through Integrity” Endowment develops and maintains the research, events and training — grounded in ethics scholarship — that professionals can use in the era of artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies.
